Training

Dr. Goldstein is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion. After completing his studies, he did his residency in orthopedic surgery at the Tel Aviv “Ichilov” Medical Center, and completed the certification exams with national honors. After his residency, he went to France for a sub-residency, and there he worked and studied together with the best shoulder surgeons in the world.

Dr. Goldstein specialized in complex arthroscopic shoulder surgeries, and performed shoulder joint replacements as well as treating injury and trauma to the shoulders.

The main part of his sub-residency was done under the supervision of Professor Pascal Buallo, a pioneer and world leader in the field of shoulder surgery, and from whom he learned advanced surgical methods and an approach to complex shoulder issues.

When he returned to Israel in 2013, Dr. Goldstein worked as a senior doctor at the shoulder unit at Ichilov hospital.

 

Duties

Today, Dr. Goldstein is head of the shoulder unit at the Assuta University Hospital in Ashdod.

Dr. Goldstein holds the rank of lecturer at Ben Gurion University in the Negev.

As part of his job, he performs the variety of surgeries that are currently available in the world, in the field of shoulders.

In addition to his work in the public sector, Dr. Goldstein sees patients at his clinic at the Ramat Aviv Mall in Tel Aviv.

 

The Procedures that Dr. Goldstein Performs as Part of his Job:

  • Repairing tears in shoulder tendons
  • Initial shoulder replacement, anatomical or inverted
  • Corrections of dislocations and instability of the shoulder
  • Splinting of fractures of the shoulders and clavicle
  • Reconstruction of ACJ
  • Treatment with ultrasound-guided biological injections
  • Dry acupuncture for the treatment of acute or chronic pain

 

The surgeries are performed in the arthroscopic method, open or combined, as necessary.

 

Research and Teaching

Simultaneously, Dr. Goldstein teaches and educates residents, interns and the nursing staff.

In addition, Dr. Goldstein performs clinical research in the framework of his job at the public hospital.

Dr. Goldstein is involved in community activities and serves as a consultant to the Wildlife Hospital at the Safari, in complex orthopedic cases.
